Mythili Dileepan, Ph.D., is a researcher in the lab of Dr. Laura Niedernhofer, MD, Ph.D., Director of the Masonic Institute on the Biology of Aging and Metabolism. She serves as the lead for the human adipose tissue sector of the U54 project, specializing in identifying and comparing senescent cells between age-matched healthy and high BMI groups. Her work leverages transcriptomics and spatialomics gene expression tools. Additionally, she is involved in the Benchmarking project, where she collects human lung and skin samples for multi-modal platform applications. Previously, she conducted research on respiratory and intestinal inflammation, influenza virus and SARS-CoV-2 infections, and vaccine development using mouse models of diseases. She holds a Ph.D. in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences, a master’s degree in swine respiratory diseases, and a BVSc degree in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science. In her leisure time, she enjoys listening to music, reading, and practicing yoga.
