Samuel Peters

Spatialomics Research Lead | Researcher 4

Sam earned his B.A. from the University of Minnesota Morris in 2018, whereafter he dabbled in neurodegeneration, fungal genomics, and viral engineering. Sam joined the Niedernhofer group in 2022, where he is currently focused on high-plex characterization and mapping of rare cell types, including senescent cells, using cutting-edge spatialomics and single-cell technologies. Sam operates at the intersection of the excellent research teams in iBAM and those in the University's Genomics Center (UMGC) and Imaging Centers (UIC). Away from the bench, you'll likely find Sam trying to keep his own senescent cells at bay by staying active outdoors and using plenty of sunscreen, reapplied often.
